SAUDI ARABIA DEPORTS MORE INDIANS THAN UNITED STATES IN 2025 — LATEST MEA DATA

According to the latest official figures presented by India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in the Rajya Sabha, Saudi Arabia deported more Indian nationals in 2025 than any other country, including the United States. India’s global deportation tally for 2025 shows that more than 24,600 Indian citizens were deported from 81 countries worldwide. Of this total, Saudi Arabia alone accounted for over 11,000 deportations, surpassing the United States’ figures. The high numbers of deportations from Saudi Arabia are primarily related to violations of immigration and labour regulations, including visa overstays, expired or invalid residency documents, and working without appropriate work authorisations. In comparison, the United States deported a lower number of Indian nationals in 2025, even as immigration enforcement intensified globally. Saudi Arabia’s position at the top of the list reflects the large Indian expatriate community in the kingdom, which works across multiple sectors such as construction, service industries, and domestic work. Compliance with the country’s strict immigration and labour policies remains a key requirement for all foreign workers. Indian diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia and around the world continue working to assist deported citizens and provide consular support, including identity verification, travel documentation, and coordination with local authorities.
