HEAVY SECURITY AS ICPC MOVES TO ARRAIGN EL-RUFAI IN KADUNA COURT

Security presence was significantly increased on Tuesday around the Federal High Court in Kaduna ahead of the planned arraignment of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over alleged corruption-related offences.

Heavily armed operatives from multiple security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, the Mobile Police Force, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), were deployed to strategic نقاط leading to the court premises located at the old Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna.

Eyewitnesses reported that security personnel were stationed as early as 7:00 a.m., conducting checks and maintaining order as preparations intensified for the court proceedings.Vehicular movement in the area was also restricted, with traffic diverted into a single lane from the Ungwan Sarki axis through Kawo.

This led to early morning congestion and delays for commuters navigating the route. The development follows an earlier announcement by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), confirming that it would arraign El-Rufai before the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna.

Details of the charges are yet to be fully disclosed, but the case is expected to draw significant public and political attention as proceedings begin.
