FORMER OSUN GOVERNOR REVEALS ADELEKE BROKE DOWN UNDER PRESIDENCY PRESSURE
The former governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has disclosed that the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, once broke down in tears under pressure from the Presidency.Oyinlola made the revelation during an appearance on Arise Television, where he discussed the intense pressure political leaders face from the ruling party. He lamented that even leaders in the ruling party find the demands from the presidency unbearable. The former governor highlighted concerns over a growing trend of defections to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a troubling development for Nigeria’s democracy.“If you look at the communique, it was clearly pointed out, why should everybody be crossing over to the APC? That was the core of the discussion,” Oyinlola said.Recounting a personal encounter with Governor Adeleke, Oyinlola revealed:“When I was having a discussion with him, the Osun State Governor, he shed tears. How can you withstand presidential pressure? It is too much for anybody to bear, no matter who you are.”The remarks come amid growing debate over the APC’s dominance and the perceived shrinking space for opposition politics in Nigeria.
