COURT ADJOURNS TERRORISM, FIREARMS CASE AGAINST EX-AGF ABUBAKAR MALAMI AND SON
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the alleged terrorism financing and illegal possession of firearms case involving former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami and his son, Abdulaziz Malami.The matter came up on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik.During the proceedings, prosecution counsel Akinlolu Kehinde (SAN) informed the court that he had only recently received instructions to take over the prosecution and needed time to consult with witnesses before the trial could proceed.Counsel for the defendants, Shuaibu Arua (SAN), did not oppose the request for an adjournment.Justice Abdulmalik subsequently granted the application and adjourned the case to April 15 and 16, 2026, for trial.The Department of State Services (DSS) had earlier arraigned Malami and his son on a five-count charge bordering on alleged terrorism financing and unlawful possession of firearms.
