BREAKING: ISRAEL ARMY SAYS STRIKING HEZBOLLAH TARGETS IN LEBANON

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Friday that it has launched a series of strikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, hitting weapons storage facilities, militant infrastructure and at least one training complex used by the Iran-backed group. The military statement described the locations as strategic sites that support planning and execution of attacks against Israel’s security forces and civilians.

Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli aircraft conducted raids over mountainous areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, including Hermel, Nabatiyeh, Jezzine districts, and other locations historically used by Hezbollah fighters.

These latest operations occur despite a ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024, intended to halt more than a year of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah. Israel has continued its aerial operations, maintaining military positions it considers strategic and arguing that Hezbollah has failed to fully disarm under the terms of the truce.

Earlier strikes this week reportedly killed members of Iran’s elite Quds Force and other militants, underscoring the complex regional dynamics involving Iran’s role in supporting Hezbollah’s military capabilities.

Lebanese officials and international observers have expressed concern that ongoing Israeli military actions risk further destabilizing the region and undermine efforts to fully implement the ceasefire terms, which included disarmament and withdrawal commitments.
