MULTIPLE EXPLOSIONS ROCK MAIDUGURI AFTER SUSPECTED BOKO HARAM ATTACK

Residents of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, were thrown into panic on Monday evening after multiple explosions were heard across parts of the city.Reports indicate that the blasts occurred around 7:00 p.m., shortly after Muslims broke their fast during Ramadan. Areas reportedly affected include the gate of University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, the busy Monday Market Roundabout, and the Elkanemi War Cemetery area.Security sources suspect the explosions may have been caused by Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) planted by militants linked to Boko Haram.The incident occurred just hours after insurgents reportedly attacked a military facility in Ajilari on the outskirts of the city. Troops were said to have repelled the assault, killing some of the attackers while others fled with gunshot wounds.As of the time of filing this report, authorities have not confirmed casualties or the full extent of damage. Security agencies are expected to release further details as investigations continue.
