MANAGER ADDRESSES SIMI, ADEKUNLE GOLD SEPARATION RUMOURS AMID VIRAL “DIVORCE PAPERS”

The manager of award‑winning Nigerian singer Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has publicly refuted circulating claims that she and her husband, Adekunle Gold, are headed for a divorce following the appearance of purported court documents on social media. A document dated February 28, 2026, allegedly filed at the High Court of Lagos State, claimed the couple’s marriage had “irretrievably broken down,” citing issues relating to emotional, financial and professional control, and sought custody arrangements for their child. However, Simi’s manager, identified only as Vincent, described the document as “fake and fabricated”, pointing to clear irregularities such as the use of stage names — which are not recognised in legal filings — and a suit number that appeared to be backdated to 2024. “It’s fake and fabricated. First, stage names are not tenable in any court of justice worldwide as indicated in the document. Even the suit number on the document is backdated to 2024 (SUIT NO HCL/FC/2024/0178),” Vincent said. The rumour gained traction on social media after the resurfacing of old posts attributed to Simi and the recent reappearance of Adekunle Gold online following a brief absence, leading some fans to speculate about marital strain. Simi and Adekunle Gold, one of Nigeria’s most high‑profile music couples, tied the knot in January 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Adejare (“Deja”), in 2020. Recent unverified reports suggested they also welcomed twins earlier in 2026, news that was widely celebrated by fans. At the time of reporting, neither Simi nor Adekunle Gold had issued an official statement regarding the viral divorce claims, and the couple continue to be regarded as together by both their management and fan communities.
