AFCON 2025: SUPER EAGLES SQUAD NUMBERS UNVEILED AS NIGERIA PREPARES FOR MOROCCO SHOWDOWN

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have officially received their squad numbers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, as excitement builds ahead of their opening match next week.
The list, released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), confirms star striker Victor Osimhen will retain his famous number 9 jersey. Newly appointed captain Wilfred Ndidi continues with his regular number 4, while Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru will wear the iconic number 10 shirt.
Regulars Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze and Frank Onyeka will also hold on to their traditional shirts, numbered 7, 11 and 8 respectively.
Four new call-ups will feature at the tournament:
Salim Fago – No. 25
Ebenezer Akinsanmiro – No. 26
Ryan Alebiosu – No. 27
Tochukwu Nnadi – No. 28
Nigeria head into AFCON looking to secure a fourth continental title, with renewed confidence and strong squad chemistry.
Eric Chelle’s men will begin their tournament journey next Tuesday in Fès, where they face the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in their opening Group game.
