BAUCHI GOVT ANNOUNCES CLOSURE OF MAJOR ROADS AHEAD OF PRESIDENT TINUBU’S VISIT
The Bauchi State Government has announced the temporary closure and diversion of several major roads in Bauchi metropolis ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s condolence visit to the state.
In a statement issued late Friday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the road closures and traffic diversions are scheduled for Saturday between 1pm and 6pm to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow during the President’s engagement.
The restrictions will affect key routes leading to the mosque of the late Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, as well as other strategic locations in the city. The road measures were put in place to manage traffic and security logistics during the presidential visit and are expected to be temporary.
Gidado urged residents to plan their movements accordingly, obey traffic directives, avoid restricted areas, and cooperate fully with security personnel deployed across the state. He also appealed to the public to remain calm and conduct themselves responsibly throughout the period.
“The Bauchi State Government regrets any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the understanding and cooperation of the public,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the President is expected to depart Abuja on Saturday for a three-state tour that will include Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos.
